She is small and beautiful and will grow up here as I have, every day praying some Northern wind will take her nine miles to the end of the lake, and she will settle for some Eastern gusts to blow her around in triangle shapes, side to side to side, until she comes home and thinks: what a thing it is to be in water. What a thing it is to breathe underneath. We are so lucky to spend our days in the quiet.
